Grandmaster Kim
Kukkiwon 9th Degree Black Belt
Grandmaster Chris Kim (김철회) began practicing Taekwondo at the age of five in Korea, being the youngest of three sons. He initially started training to follow in the footsteps of his eldest brother, who had a very weak body. Their father wanted Grandmaster Kim to learn commitment, as he often quit activities shortly after starting them. Surprisingly, he became very dedicated to Taekwondo, more so than to other hobbies like sports or music. He trained under the renowned Grandmaster Ko Eui Min (고의민), one of the earliest figures in Taekwondo. Grandmaster Ko immigrated to Munich, Germany, in 1978 after being invited by German officials to teach there. Each of his disciples, including Grandmaster Kim, eventually became World Champions in their own right.
